Description

Ingredients

  • 500g Boneless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Oregano
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup Diced tomatoes
  • 1 medium Sliced avocados
  • 1/2 cup Shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup Sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 12 Lime wedges
  • 8 Tortillas (corn or flour)

Instructions

  1. Dice the chicken into bite-sized pieces and combine it with olive oil, lime juice, and a tablespoon of taco seasoning. Marinate for 15–30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Place the marinated chicken in the skillet and cook for 6–8 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
  3. While the chicken cooks, heat your tortillas in a dry skillet, microwave, or over an open flame.
  4. Assemble the tacos by placing the chicken at the center of each tortilla, followed by your favorite toppings, and finish with sour cream and a squeeze of lime juice.

Notes

To ensure perfect tacos, consider doubling the seasoning, not overcrowding the pan while cooking, toasting your tortillas, adjusting spice levels with cayenne, and prepping ahead for efficiency.
