Description
A fresh, creamy, and protein-packed twist on a classic Caprese toast—made with cottage cheese, juicy tomatoes, and fragrant basil, all atop perfectly toasted sourdough.
Ingredients

- 2–4 slices of sourdough or multigrain bread
- 1/2 cup fresh cottage cheese
- 6–8 slices of ripe tomato
- Fresh basil leaves
- Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
- Optional: Balsamic glaze
- Flaky sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Toast bread slices in a skillet with a bit of olive oil or in the oven at 375°F for 5–7 minutes, flipping once.
- Spread 2–3 tablespoons of cottage cheese on each slice using the back of a spoon.
- Top with 3–4 slices of tomato per toast.
- Scatter torn basil leaves on top.
- Drizzle with olive oil.
- Optional: Add a touch of balsamic glaze.
- Finish with flaky sea salt and cracked pepper.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
For a warm version, broil the assembled toast for 1–2 minutes. Pat tomatoes dry to avoid soggy toast.
