Instructions

  1. Start by washing the green beans and cutting off the ends.
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter or heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the thinly sliced shallots and sauté until they are soft and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Toss in the trimmed green beans, season with salt and pepper, and pour in a splash of water.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cover the pan.
  6. Cook the green beans for about 8 minutes, or until they are tender but still crisp.
  7. Remove the cover and continue cooking for an additional 6 minutes, until the pan is dry and the shallots are jammy.
